All Saints.

The foundation stone for All Saints' Church was laid on October 31, 1839 on the site where Captain James Stirling had, in March 1827, made camp.

The small mud brick and thatch Church was built by Richard Edwards, a master brickmaker from Gloucestershire, with the help of many volunteers, and the first service was held on January 10, 1841, with 69 people attending. The first person baptised in the Church was Hannah Haddrill, who was to spend her whole life in the Parish.

The floor of pit-sawn timber, the cast-iron windows and the stone from a Yorkshire quarry at the Church entrance remain from the original building. Two original pews can be seen at the Cloisters, and the Memorial Window "Light of the World "was installed 1938.

The Lych-gate was built in 1929 to commemorate the centenary of Western Australia. Mitchell Cottage and Cloister were built and dedicated in 1986. With the closure of the cemetery in 1963, a Memorial Wall was built for the plaques remembering those whose ashes are interred there.

Through public donations and a grant from the Bicentennial Authority, much restoration to All Saints' Church was done in 1988, including the restoring of brickwork, a new roof, restoring of many of the graves and landscaping.

All Saints' Church today is a living place of worship within the Swan Parish. Each Sunday there is a service of Holy Communion, and many baptisms and weddings are celebrated here each year.
